I suggested it as an appropriate dish but I was out voted by the family.

Just wondering if anyone had rabbit for Easter. I like it stewed.

My Grand-kids had some chocolate ones.
BTW: I like rabbit. When I was younger I used to hunt dose wascully wabbits.
Don't like the looks of Jersey rabbits anymore. If I buy them, way too much
money.
I have a nice rabbit cacciatore recipe if your interested.

Hasenpfeffer is the best. Try it with some homemade spaetzel and a
nice dry wine.
rabbit cacciatore does sound good also.

I have done just that, only I bought the spaetzel. No complaints on my part.
When my kids were small, Daughter 5, Son 2, I would cook rabbit but they
didn't know what it was.
One day my daughter asked when we would have some of those chickens with
four legs.
She discovered that the ones in the back had more meat.

Does that Saturday count? Roasted over an open camp fire. Wrapped in
foil while it cooked. No seasoning other than the smoke from the fire.
A couple of different legume based dishes and a couple of different
types of potato salad as the side dishes.

Bought one because it was available, but it went into the freezer for a
future meal. Not sure how it will be prepared once we do make it.

I bought rabbit once. Pelfreez? Rabbit is a lot like chicken. I made a
fricassee. Added a splash of dry red wine after browning it to deglaze the
pan, then added chicken stock and simmered it low and slow. Thickened the
gravy with a cornstarch slurry, IIRC. That was 30 years ago so I don't
remember the specifics.

Didn't have rabbit for Easter, but I like rabbit stewed as well. I do
like a lot of spices with it, though, as rabbit does have a particular
taste.
