R500 Problems

I have a samsung r500 from cricket so yesterday i was messing around with the ftm stuff and then i put show file system on start up and when i booted it up it said initial programing needed so i figured that i dialed *228 so i did.
And then it come ups with like national roaming network? And i tried the hanRABet programming and i set the mdn and then i set the min and then the system cdma id thing and then it doesnt work when i reboot. then i go to it and it automatically sets the min to the mdn. Cricket says that i have to talk to samsung about sending it in. But i dont want to if i just can do it myself

Is this a flashed phone or did you purchase it from Cricket? If so, you might want to flash the Cricket PRL to it. I usually use 1041 for the PRL on that phone. Then set the SID pairs to what they are supposed to be and try a *228.

Also, when I flash this phone, I usually end up dialing 47*68#13580 and then 073. the phone will reset and give you a signal and such.

Well i looked on my phone and the prl and the eri is missing
And i think the guy as cricket is a ******* cause i bet thats the problem.
Thats probably why its connecting to the nationwide roaming network..
But thanks man.

Flash the PRL to the phone. Use 1040. Then do what I told you 47*68#13580 and a "test mode" or something will pop up. Enter in 073 and the phone will reset. Problem solved.

Unless of course you didn't put the phone in emergency mode as well as use emergency mode on the samsung phone tools. In that case, you will need to reflash the phone.

By the way dialing *22804 will get to to cricket towers and sometimes the prl can be downloaded from there. Try it before you laugh. ;)
 
Whoa it acutally got me to cricket network instead of the roaming network
Hmm but it says that it cant be programmed got anymore good stuff haha :)
 
Oh yeah. You can do one of two things:

1) Check the SID/NID pairs. Make sure those are correct. I am in Lincoln so I use 5756 for the SID and 65535 for the NID. I am not sure if they are market specific or just carrier specific. You can do this by using CDMA workshop or QPST. Or even the Samsung Phone tools.

2) Call Cricket customer service and get your MDN and MIN and manually program it into the phone using QPST or CDMA Workshop. Or even the Samsung phone tools.

After that it should *228 if you have the phone activated. If not then check to make sure the ESN matches the sticker under the battery. I have had that happen to me a couple of times.
