R18 mail order ban!!!

I can't speak for other women but I like porn the way it is now (but then i've been accused of being a man in a womans body on more than one occassion :) ). I think you are right though, a lot of women like the 'eroticism' aspect and the porn sites for women I have visited centre more on stories and the such. Men are more visual and get off on the act itself...or is that another sweeping generalisation?? ;)

I also agree that if more women got involved in the porn industry on the other side of the camera it would be a good thing. There are women directors and producers but not enough. Hell, if i had the money and the know-how it is something i would do.
 
So long as it's still legal to import hardcore, which it is, I shall continue with that. Turns out cheaper anyway!

Strange laws where it is ok to import from another country, providing it meets with R18 guidelines, but not be able to order from a company based within the UK. The R18 ruling only applies in this country and is quite ludicrous.
 
You can buy porn over the internet, you just can't buy R18 over the internet if the entire company is based in the UK.

If they run any parts of it from outside the UK it is ok.

9Songs is a different matter. It is bringing sex into mainstreeam films, using mainstream actors. It is an 18 rating film, so it is a different bag altogether.

I find that your "eroticism" argument is very true - in my experience, women do tend to prefer the romanticised aspect of the plot, how it occured, and the affection that is shown; whereas Men do, again in my experience, tend to focus more on the "quality" of the act.

Having said that, i haven't had a girlfriend in a long time... any takers? I'm fairly cheap and lovable*

Basically Kevin you have quoted the law as it stanRAB as I unferstand it. Quoting from a recent article, it says "it is legal to import DVRAB from Europe by mail order for personal use only."

As I understand it, this is a refused appeal against selling R18 via mail order from within the UK. Therefore, can UK companies continue to supply R18s as long as the mail order company is based outside of the UK?

Living in the city I live in, I cannot purchase R18 titles even though there are 3-4 R18 licensed stores in this city and the nearest place would be Manchester. Therefore, I am forced to use the internet to get my porn, material which I am legally able to view.

with respect to the plot based issue that some women seem to prefer, I like to know what is going on and what is being said as well as a good quality performance.

So much so that I particularly hate foreign porn.

If porn had the budget of Hollywood, I would be first in line at the cinema, Kleenex in hand! :eek:

Forget R18, they are just toned down versions of proper XXX films. There are loaRAB of places where you can buy these on the internet. One of the cheapest I have found is here . I got a 4 hour DVD for about

i know what your saying, but mainstreak actors? "Margo Stilley" before this film she had done NO films, so she`s not a mainstream actress..

and why is it ok to bring full on sex in a mainstream film and show it in a cinema and sell it over the counter in any hight street store, yet if you have sex on any other film it`s an R18?
