After all is said and done... they should either have some sort of plan in place about how to take the site forward, or just graciously let it go...

It's a sad way to go down, IF it eventually happens, to be remembered as a site either fucked over by PayPal, or who couldn't get enough donations from members...

I was lucky enough to be invited there almost 3 months ago, and in that time all I've read about is donations, server costs, site closing if not enough money is forthcoming, etc etc... not what I expected from FTN at all

SCC doing just fine selling invite. it just my humble opinion, it happen once to FTN before and they make record with donation, probably enough to survived 3-4month before their paypal has shutdown. A few problem is ok compare to need shutdown tracker (which more worst). again, just my opinion.

What? by all means join the discussion but please try and say something of worth. A definition of a good private tracker?? What the hell are you talking about? Almost ALL trackers ask for money at one time or another.

I like the tracker and I know first hand it isn't an easy task to run a tracker and keep everyone happy. With all the closings the past year or so people should be more appreciative of those who are still around and put their freedoms at risk so we can get the content we like and enjoy.

If you did donate, then you put your trust into the tracker staff to do what is appropriate with the donations as they see fit. Firstly Yes MORONS! Secondly they don't "owe" anyone shit! Not the donors, not you and I, nobody. Being a member there is not a right it's a privilege. As with any other site I had a knowledge of being picked on this way I'd say the same thing, and have in the past. A while back it was supertorrents and I'm sure if you look up my old comments there they would sound basically the same.

They don't have to prove a god damn thing to anyone. They, as I said 3 times now, are providing us a service out of their own time and sometimes money. Now you say they need to prove something to us? Why do people donate? I couldn't speak for these people mainly because I don't know them really. If i had to guess though I imagine some of them donated to help out a site that has been very good to them over the years, to give back after being given so much. Hell maybe some hoping to get invites. Again I don't know peoples motives so i guess you'll have to track them down individually or start a thread and see.

I just read all of the News items since the first of the year. It seems like Brandon has had some money concerns. I know when my wife and I have a tight month, money gets brought up more often than when we have a windfall.

Most of the posts were either thanking people for donating, or were in reference to "controversies" surrounding invites as rewards for doing so.

Only one (maybe two) were efforts to request money.

All-in-all, EVERYTHING indicates to me that serious efforts have been made to keep the site going.

Most people even somewhat involved in running a tracker at some point know how gay paypal is... They freeze you when they can get the most profit of it.

Could be FTN lameness as well though. Either way, sad to see this site go. It seems that quite some proper sites are shutting down, but the ones coming back for them suck bigtime.
