"I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence?
-George Carlin

Until you make the inner changes and are willing to do some mental work, nothing out there is going to change. The only thing you need to change is a thought -- only a thought. ~ Louise L. Hay

That's a beautiful quote. It reminded me of this one:

"Only the weak are cruel. Gentleness can only be expected from the strong. "
- Leo Buscaglia

Jerusha: Abner, do you believe every word in the Bible literally?
Abner: Believe! The Bible is God's holy word written exactly as he commanded. I believe it all - in heaven and in hell and in original sin and in God's terrible, all-consuming wrath! If I did not believe, then I could not call myself a Christian!
J: Then I will no longer call myself a Christian. I don't believe in your God of wrath. I don't believe Keoki's in hell, either. I believe he has found God and Malama with him and Kelolo and all those who died there on the beach.
A: But it's impossible for the unbaptized to enter heaven...
J: Oh, Abner, I've never seen a people more generous, more loving, more filled with Christian charity than these! I will not believe that God has rejected them simply because they haven't been baptized. Not even that lost child whose birth you cursed.
A: These things are God's will, not mine. What else but God's wrath has the power to annihilate them?
J: Disease, despair - our lack of love. Our inability to find them beautiful. Our contempt for their ways, our lust for their land, our greed, our arrogance. That is what kills them, Abner. And that's what you must save them from.
A: They are already lost. I failed them. I failed these people and God. My ministry here is at an end.
J: Your ministry here is not ended. You will stay here in Lahaina and shelter and protect these people. You will win them to a merciful God with bonds of charity so strong, they will belong to him forever.
A: How?
J: By offering what you always valued most and found hardest to give, to them and to me. Your love.

Just a couple of MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000) quotes. Though most of them came from this video:

YouTube - MST3K - A Date With Your Family

+Be yourself. Just be sure it's your best self. And be sure no one knows the real you.

+Brother seats Junior. Then helps Mother to her chair as he would his best girl. The less said about this, the better.

Now let no charitable hope
Confuse my mind with images
Of eagle and of antelope:
I am by nature none of these.

I was, being human, born alone;
I am, being woman, hard beset;
I live by squeezing from a stone
What little nourishment I get.

In masks outrageous and austere
The years go by in single file;
But none has merited my fear,
And none has quite escaped my smile.

~Elinor Wylie

"No matter what age you are, or what your circumstances might be, you are special, and you still have something unique to offer. Your life, because of who you are, has meaning."

Those are good. I'd say #1 is the hardest because it relies a lot on things we can't control (like actually finding someone) :look:

"The love of wilderness is more than a hunger for what is always beyond reach; it is also an expression of loyalty to the earth, the earth which bore us and sustains us, the only home we shall ever know, the only paradise we ever need—if only we had the eyes to see."
- Edward Abbey

"It's hard to wait around for something you know might never happen; but it's even harder to give up when you know it's everything you want."- Unknown

So true!

In my solitude, many miles from men and houses, I am in a childishly happy and carefree state of mind, which you are incapable of understanding unless someone explains it to you.
-Knut Hamsun

Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley. ~ Theodore Roethke

"Ralph Waldo Emerson once asked what we would do if the stars only came out once every thousand years. No one would sleep that night, of course. The world would create new religions overnight. We would be ecstatic, delirious, made rapturous by the glory of God. Instead, the stars come out every night and we watch television.".

From Paul Hawken's commencement address (I recommend reading the whole thing)
