Quote for a sill plus welding on an old ford transit?

I've been quoted £500+ (Up to £800 depending on other problems coming up). Is this too expensive and where/how can I get it cheaper? It's an M reg, banger with one rusty sill and a bit more underneath that also needs welding (not excessive underneath). In North Wales. Ta
 
well i have to put you amounts in dollars so that would be cheap here in the states if you could get someone to do it . most shops in the Texas would do the wielding and then do the body work and paint it for around 2,000. dollars so if you are getting the body work and the paint for 5 to 8 hundred then you are getting a good deal.
