I haven't started yet so this might sound really pessimistic ... but what happens if I decide to quit before the treatment is finished with?
I was taking yasmin pills before for fourth months and then I was given the spiro pills because my Dr (not dermo) thought that would be a good corabination for my acne ... what I also figured is that mine is a mix of acne with scars :S
Just do the Accutane. My Son just finished up his 4th month on Accutane and is looking real good right now... and you will too.
Accutane can make you break out worse about a month into it. Don't let that bother you. It clears up.
Folk-lore is that Accutane causes depression. In reality... many of the folks starting Accutane are depressed well before they start it. Usually because of their appearance with acne. You are anxious... but need not be. Just keep up with the meRAB... you can do it.
Stick with the treatment and your will have the beautiful skin you deserve.
I agree with VentureMan. My son is in his 3rd month of Accutane. His face looks amazing! The first month was bad with more breakouts and really dry skin, and he is still dealing with the dry skin but not as bad as it was initially. BUT - if you stick with it and make it through that first few weeks, you may just find (like my son did) that it was soooo very worth it.
He's right about the depression too - I think it's ironic that something that makes your face look 100% better is said to cause depression, considering that if your face gets so bad that you need Accutane, you are probably already depressed to begin with! I'm sure chemically it's possible but the fact is, if your face is getting better, your mood is bound to improve.
