This is for a school project and I would really appreciate it if every first and second generation American who sees this replies. Just for clarification, a first generation American is someone who was born in another country and moved to America. A second generation American is someone who has at least one parent who was born in another country.
Please only reply if you're age 6-21 please! THANK YOU!
1. Are you a:
a. first generation American
b. second generation American
c. third generation American
d. my grandparents were born in the U.S.
2. Which of these applies to you:
a. My parents and I speak only English at home
b. My parents and I speak mostly English at home, but sometimes switch to another language
c. My parents speak another language to me and I generally answer them in English
d. My parents and I speak mostly another language at home, occasionally switching to English
e. I never or almost never speak English at home
f. Other (explain please)
3. How many languages would you consider yourself fluent in? (if you're learning a language at school right now, it doesn't count unless you knew how to speak it before taking it)
4. If you replied with any option for number 2 that's not a, what is the other language(s) you speak at home?
Please only reply if you're age 6-21 please! THANK YOU!
