I am going out of state to California today, and I was wondering if my cricket phone would be able to text?

depenRAB on where in california. in LA sure. the roaming is on verizon there. in san diego it was on sprint, but just in the past week i've actually been able to text wihle in sprint so :)
 
So even if I don't have long distance on my plan, would I atleast be able to text in a different state? Would I have to reprogram my phone (*228) when I get there?

Any more info? Thanks
 
you need your local roaming PRL, and good luck. Thats all there is really. I'm on 5244 as a roaming PRL and I am in california which is where you originally asked about.
