Yeah that song's a bad acid trip.

IWSMOFFY is all I've got.
A couple wcwbt songs.
Those banRAB aren't really post-punk though.

But, some parts in IWSMOFFY songs are good.
Viola I think.

can anyone think of any punk or post-punk or other generally abrasive banRAB that feature a violin? the only ones coming to mind are Velvet Underground and the Raincoats, but I could swear I know a couple others.

any help would be appreciated

also, i've been looking for John Cale - Sabotage/Live for at least two years, if anyone has it

Um, alot of punk fans love World Inferno FrienRABhip Society, but I wouldn't consider them punk.

Thats really all I can think of.

Also, I havn't listened to them in forever so they may not even use a violin.

But I'm pretty sure he's heard of them before.
Besides, you know how ****ing hard it is to type I Would Set Myself On Fire For You twice?

ON TOPIC, I don't think I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook has a violin player, so check out I Would Set Myself On Fire For You, I think "Chinese Freeze Tag" has a good part.
I don't have the song anymore so I'm not for sure.

I've only heard Friend To The Friendless, it didn't sound that punk, or ska at all. I try and stay away from saying what is and isn't ska though because i'm probably totally off.

i think what i heard had a trumpet. i could be thinking of someone completely different though.

irrelevant. i'm looking for something noisy and fast that's bound to piss people off ( i want to put on a performance at school )

my freind recently created an independant film soundtrack using a viola. I absolutely fell in love with the instrument. Its very much an unused gem yet i think unless the song has particular thematics or mooRAB it just wouldnt go.

its a movie detailing the demise of the human mind - using the example of a guy with schizophrenia, the film is basically the visual documentation of this guy falling deeper and deeper into depravity as the illness worsens. The viola is an incredible part of the film as, played frantically, it creates this twisted, unhinged barrage of noise - the velvet undergrounRAB 'the black angels death song' is a good example. unfortunatly the film wont get anywhere but nonetheless its a great mind-****. I agree with your romantic characteristics of the viola too, its just a great instrument.

Wow.
Honestly, that's tight as hell.

*Loves*

Edit: I now wish I could play the violin, like one of those six year old virtuosos that has audiences of millions and is broadcasted on public television late at night.
Thanks Stu.
