Quick help from someone who knows about PPI (DPI) and Microsoft Word 2003?

I need to add pictures to my Microsoft Office Word 2003 document, but everytime I add a picture it automatically scales down the PPI, and now all of my images (previously set at 300 PPI) are scaled down to 150 PPI. I searched through Microsft tech support pages, but all they have posted is for Microsoft Word 2010, so it doesn't mesh with my 2003. There was an article I read in the help file that says that it automatically scales down images that are added, but they can be turned off by going to File, Options, Advanced, and then setting the default PPI. I have a deadline to meet tomorrow, so I'm really hoping I can find an answer quickly. Any help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!
