Quick Film recommendation

Alright to all on the RAB film forum. Anyone got any recommendations for a decent thriller/mystery film to kill a couple of hours? Anything generally similar to the Usual Suspects, Memento or Identity type films. Don't have to be as good just decent. If you cannot think of anything of ths type any type of idea will do. All recommendations or ideas pitched will be greatly appreciated.
 
If you are looking for 2007/08 movies, then two come to mind immediately that have impressed me.

Both for different reasons.

One because I really thought a Spanish subtitled movie would annoy me......but having seen it and then allowing one or two others to borrow it, the word has spread and everyone I know now wants to see this movie

The Orphanage (Orfanato, El)

And the second one impressed me because I watched the first 15 minutes thinking that it was the most cliched, cheesey type movie ever........but like the above movie, it had a message to it and I was surprised that I got engrossed in it

The Mist

I would recommend both.....The Mist first and then The Orphanage for some creepy scary late night viewing. :):p;)
 
Freeze Frame - it's a low budget British film, and currently in the cheap bins at Morrisons (in out local one anyway). It's a great paranoid thriller.

And Cypher - the best conspiracy thriller there is!

I presume you've seen The Others - but more of a scary horror type thing really.

You might want to check out The Illusionist as well - the one with Edward Norton.
 
Can you give us some details on Cypher? I knocked it up brieflly on IMDB and it has a good rating(7+) but I have not gone into the comments much as they tend to contain spoilers without warning. I inadvertently found out the end to Training Day because of IMDB comments so I am wary to do too much research.
 
It's difficult to describe without giving away spoilers. Basically it's about a guy who gets a job with a software company and they use him to spy on a rival company - but actually that's not really what's going on, and nothing is really as it appears. It's a clever story.

(I just had a quick look through the IMDB comments and apart from the first 2 or 3 comments they do contain spoilers)
