Every year, Proxima Centari, the closest star to the sun, is observed to move 1.5 arcseconds with respect to the background stars for six months, followed by a return to its original position over the course of the next six months. How far away is Proxima Centari? [diameter of Earth's orbit = 2 AU (astronomical units)]

Proxima centauri is 4.2 lightyears away. A light year is 5.87 trillion miles. So proxima Centauri is about 24.654 trillion miles away. That comes to about 63,115 AUs
