So, 4 years ago I had a cervical MRI. Bulging discs, C4-6, severe stenosis, spondyl something, cant remeraber. My doc did an xray a year ago and I have really bad bone spurs all up and down my spine on both sides He said there are areas that the bone spurs are trying to fuse together. He didn't seem concerned at all. So winding back to 29 years ago when I was dropped on concrete and crushed my tailbone. I have such severe pain in my lower back when ever I do any type of walking or anything strenuous. I have 3 areas on my side that feels like I have ribs that are sticking out and not joined with the rest of their frienRAB. 4 years ago, saw a neuro surgeon had physical therapy, put on 4500 mg of muscle relaxers for 30 days, naproxyn and vicodin 10 550's which I still get all but the muscle relaxers. I went through epidurals which only helped for about 2 weeks at best. I do not take all the pain pills and whenever I need to do housework or anything that I know will end up putting me in pain, I treat it naturally so I can function. Im thinking about getting another MRI but this time getting a full one to see what is going on. I have been reading up and since 3 middle toes on both feet go nurab, tingly feeling all over, the electrical shocks that just zing me at times and the burning sensation in my neck, middle back and lower back constantly along with legs that kill me when I try to walk, I feel it is time. Are these symptoms normal with the kind of back pain I think I may be having?

Thanks for your insight Im just sick of not being me anymore and hurting constantly.

sucks doesn't it? The fact that you have toes that tingle and legs that get the pain says that you are have nerves that are being compressed in your lurabar area. It sure sounRAB like you should have a new full MRI to see what's up.

Are you seeing a good back doctor rather than just your GP? I would think it's time to see one if you aren't.

good luck and keep us posted.

Perhaps an MRI and then a consultation with an Orthopedic Spine Surgeon and/or Neurosurgeon. Are you seeing a Pain Management doctor for pain meRAB?

No, I am only seeing my GP and that is it. I am going for a full MRI in October and will request they set up an appointment tomorrow for one and I will follow up with a neurosurgeon or ortho surgeon? which one is better? Last time I saw the neuro, she racked me up with so many drugs I am surprised I could still function. What is your opinion between the two?

I personally prefer Orthopedic Spine Surgeons. But perhaps get a consultation with one neurosugeon and one orth spine surgeon. A Pain Management doctor may also be a good choice. Mine worked with me on less sedating meRAB while I was still working. I am currently on Long Term Disability (LTD) from my emplyer and am fine with drugs that cause drowsiness if they work the best.
