hi, i was wondering how long a person would have to stay in for the US army boot camp? i heard it was around six months, but would they have to stay there during the whole time, or would they be able to visit? do they get any days off during the week? what about communication, is there internet, phones, letters...?

You are there for intensive physical and mental training. It is not girl scout camp.

You can write letters. After a 3 or 4 weeks you can call home.

Some basic training is 13 weeks and others is 7 or 8. It depends.

U.S. Army basic training is 9 weeks long. A week of processing and 8 weeks of training. Definitely not 6 months lol. Usually soldiers get personal time on sundays, but not for the whole day. There is no internet and you are allowed phone calls whenever the drill sergeants let you. Usually on sundays.

it's 10 weeks for basic training they round it down and call it 9.5 weeks but everyone that's been there knows it's 10 weeks. then he/she has his AIT and the length of that depends on his MOS. They don't get days "off", they can't have visitors until graduation, no theres no internet, and yes phone calls once or twice a week and you can write letters.
