1) God is unconditional love. Now what christian would not believe in that.
Yet, if God is unconditional love, why does he condemn sinners and unbelievers to Hell?
Let us focus on the word "Unconditional" first.
Unconditional - without boundaries, without limitations, without any conditions.
Unconditional love would then cover the fact that his love forgives and loves even sinners and disbelievers who continue to do so.
But the teachings tell us of a God who punishes us in Hell if we are not saved from our sins.
How can that be unconditional?
2) Heaven. This surprised me too much and since then I have doubted the teachings of the bible.
Scriptures say that heaven is a wonderful place where there are no tears and where we worship God in joy. Scriptures tell us that heaven is made of gold pavements, where buildings are made of limitless amounts of precious gems. And that heavens gates consist of twelve gates made up of Pearls.
Now what shocks me is the fact that I have NO personal attachment to Gold, precious gems OR pearls. I consider them worthless. Of course, on earth, you can change them into money, but other than that, I find no value in possessing Gold or any such precious gems.
I detest them.
Then why does my final destination (if I live as a Saved person who believes in God) have to be made up of things I don't like?
I'd rather have the pavements paved in soil. And I'd rather have Gems replaced with trees and flowers and other nature-related things of beauty which I personally find bliss in.
So what is going on??
Is God of the bible indeed unconditional love?
Why is it that I do not wish to go to this heaven as described in the bible?
Can somebody answer this?
My christian parents blinked when I asked them this. Speechless.
