Questions about cellphone/laptops at BCT?

Hold you fire, I KNOW you are not allowed to use any of these materials while you are at BCT.....relax.

My question is can you still BRING them? Do they take them and lock them away til you're done and then you can receive and use them again when you get to AIT? After BCT I leave immediately to AIT, there's no grace period to return home and get my things. Or do I have to wait until I get 2 weeks off after AIT to get all this stuff and go to my permanent basing station?


BTW, I'm in the army, going to Fort Sill, and then Fort Sam for AIT (if that matters at all)
 
they MIGHT let you keep a cell phone locked up but definitely NOT anything lareger.

leave the laptop home.

you can have stuff mailed to you once you get to AIT and get permission to have them.
 
You can bring them, but they will be locked away in a room with all other personal gear (civilian clothes, cell phones, accessories) until you graduate. Then when you get to AIT, they will lock them up again. Some AIT centers have loosened up since I went through and may now allow you to have them, but dont count on it.
 
you can bring them and you are correct, they will lock it all away, but i would recommend you wait. have someone ship your laptop later. when my husband was in basic someone broke into the room that they were in and stole several laptops etc. you have no idea how much stuff gets stolen during your training. i would advise you not to take anything of great value with you.

have a family member bring these things to your at graduation. that's what my husband and i both did.
