1- Yes they sell them @ they're stores but online they only sell it if its with a plan.
2-Yes
3-Yes call Mobile they can further explain.
4-The data plan for the iphone is 34.99 I currently have the Sidekick 2008 and my data plan is about 20 dollars and they have raised it so if you do connect it on T-mobile it will be about 35 dollars for the data plan which is the internet use IM, testingall that good stuff...
5- Yes they only take the unlocked iIphoneand they have to see it obviously.

1) Does Apple sell them online or at their stores?

2) Would I be able to buy a regular (not unlocked) iPhone from Apple without making a plan from AT&T and take it home and jailbreak it/unlock it?

3) Would I be able to use a locked iPhone without an AT&T sim card?

4) If I have a T-Mobile plan and a $6.99 internet plan for my Samsung Gravity would that same plan apply if used my T-Mobile sim card with an unlocked/jailbroken iPhone?

5) If I went to T-Mobile to set up or renew a plan would they need to see a cellphone? Would they accept seeing an unlocked iPhone?

1. Apple sells unlocked phone at very costly prices ($1000 or so) and these iPhones never get locked so you don't have to worry about baseband upgrades that lock the phone. You don't need a contract with this

2. No you won't be able to do that as of September 2009 because the new 3.1 update is preinstalled in all their phones and that firmware has a baseband upgrade that is not unlockable and it may not be unlockable forever....

3. You'll be able to use a locked iPhone but you need to activate it first with any AT&T Sim Card or else it will be stuck at the Emergency screen but a workaround is jailbreaking it (with redsn0w as iH8sn0w doesn't hacktivate phones)

4. Yes, cause T-Mobile doesn't force their users to pay more (detecting the phone and all) actually they encourage unlocking and using it at cheaper plans

5. They will accept a unlocked iPhone as they are a open company as an unlocked iPhone is allowed. Just like AT&T is too but they will add charges and all instead.. Also they might cooperate with unlocking your iPhone
