I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee with 155,000 miles on it. It has the 4.0 liter with a straight 6. While driving the other evening there was a loud bang sound. It has ran terrible ever since and the engine is getting hot. First I thought about the transmission but it is not acting like it did before where it would not go in gear. I can drive it but it seems to not want to go while in the lower gears. I also thought about the timing chain but tried to use a light on it but can't get to it. I also thought about a blown head gasket. If anyone can help me locate the problem or tell me a little more that would be great! Thanks in advance!!! If I left anything out let me know please.
