Hi there 
I don't plan on owning a home in the near future, but when I think about home owning, there isn't a lot that I know.
My main question is:
What are the expenses of owning a home/being a new home owner?
I myself can figure out the costs of electricity, food, etc. but the main costs I want to know is anything that comes from actually signing the contract to say you're buying it (as opposed to the ones you have when you're renting).
There's the mortgage cost. Is this one straight payment per week/fortnight/month?
Are there land costs or rates (does the price change within time?)?
Are there other costs that government/council, etc. will charge?
