I've had my current camera, a Sony Alpha 100 (the original Alpha) since the first week that it was introduced. It's served me very well for these past four years, but I feel a growing urge to shoot video without having to lug around a camcorder. So I turned to Sonystyle, and found the 580, with 1080p video shooting, 16.2MP, and a pivot-and-swivel 3" screen. And it's right in my price range.
I just have one concern, regarding audio recoding. After using my browser to search the page, I couldn't find a hint as to the microphone. Does it have (a) built-in microphone(s)? Or do you need an attachment on the hot shoe?
