Alright, so I have a question, and I will precede it with some information.
I'm currently a high school junior. I am wondering about what to major in when I go to college (please don't tell me I shouldn't worry about it now - I already know my interests and skills and I just want some logical feedback from someone who knows about my area of interest, not a life lesson). I was considering International Relations, but upon hearing the types of jobs offered to people who major in international business, I was intrigued (it's the sort of job I would like to do), travelling, explaining business plans, promoting my company, etc. The thing is, I am good at social studies and English, and pretty bad at math. I'm taking AP Stat this year and I took Prob and Stat last year, and both classes I find extremely easy; all the material comes naturally to me. However, I did tremendously bad in Algebra II and I have heard that International Business majors have to take calculus and be good at math to succeed at their jobs. I was wondering a few things: First off, if I am good at Economics and Statistics, as well as Social Sciences, would International Business be a good major for me, despite my lack of ability in Algebraic maths? Second off, what sort of jobs are offered to International Relations majors? Is there a way to concentrate in International Economics, and would the job offers be similar to those of International Business students?
Finally: Will a company be less willing to hire me to deal with economic issues if I hired in International Relations rather than International Business? I am very confused about all of this.
