Question regarding grip ends...

I posted this in the lobby already, and realized that I should have probably put it in here...

I noticed the other day that my grip ends (the ones that are held in with the phillips end screw) were sticking out a little. I tried to screw them back in but I couldn't. I pulled the thing out and looked through the rubber section in the bar and saw that the bolt that holds it place is tilted on end...does anyone have any ideas how to get that upright and straight so I can tighen the ends down? I don't have anything that small and long to stick through the metal section. I'll post some pictures if no one has a clue what I'm talking about.

Alright, the whole reason I put this on here was because I tinkered with this damn thing for 3 hours trying to figure out how to get it on. I came home and was taking pics to show what I was talking about, then remembered that I had some chopsticks in the house. I grabbed some and was able to poke the damn rubber grommet and the nut out of there (didn't realize it came out). So I screwed the thing on tight enough to get it in there so I could tighten it once in there, but not tight enough to make it so it wouldn't go in. Here's the pics. The first is the piece I was trying to get back in there, the secone is the piece with the grommet and the other nut....
