Question Regarding 3G Data Roaming

If you travel to a MetroPCS market, will the Cricket phone lock on to MetroPCS and provide voice and data, but only 1x data, or will it choose Sprint for 3G data?
 
If it's an Android or Blackberry it should provide 3g data, because only phones on those two plans will have the 3g data roaming. All others will have 1x.
 
Do you think it will roam on Sprint for everything, or is there a way it would only use Sprint for 3G and then use Metro (or the other carrier) for voice?

I mean, when I went to Northern New Jersey, I was roaming on MetroPCS, not Sprint. But, if I were to get the Android, since this new agreement went into place, I'm confused on which network it would choose.
