Question re:tires

It's been a while since I replaced tires and my stock tires on the 109 are nearly both worn at the same level.

I'll have to replace front and rear together.

A friend of mine who rides a 750 Shadow (doesn't ride 2 up like we do) says he gets almost two rear tires to one front.

How about everyone else?

What kind of tires did you have on? The reason I ask is I replaced mine back in November with a set of Dunlops. Then in March I had to replace the Dunlops again. I went with Metzlers this time they were a little bit more expensive but so far it looks like I am getting a lot more wear out of them than I did the Dunlops.

Don, from what I just measured on my C109RT tires I'm going to have them both worn out about the same time. I run mine at the recommended pressures too. Must be that bike.
I am thinking I'll get about 7500 miles out of these.(or about 12,000 km)

I got 21,000 km out of my rear tire and the front will be replaced at the same time.
Ran recommended pressures too.
Because I'm doing more touring than heavy cornering the rear tire wore really flat and left alot of tread on the sides.

I'm wondering if it's the front end weight of the bike that wears the front like that.

I was not trying to start an argument. I was curious as I don't get more than 7,000 miles out of my rear tires. On my Super Hawk I would run Pilot Roads and get almost 10,000 miles but I have not put them on my Gixxer (Pilot Powers 2CT). I have been looking at other tires trying to figure out what would give me good grip and a little better wear. Just wondering what you are running.
