Hey
Like most of my posts in the last couple days I have a question about CPU temp. I just built a new computer and when I first turned it on and for the first full day the CPU temperature was reading about 60C idle and 95-100C under full load [TES Oblivion
] which is very bad I know. When it got that high I turned it off and just now removed the heatsink and the CPU from the MOBO. Either during the removal or whenever, I realized one of the pins in the socket was bent. I used a push pin to straighten it out and put the CPU and the heatsink back on. When I turned it on just now it says the temperature is at 34C (which is good). I looked both in the BIOS and used RealTemp3.0- they both say the same thing. I was wondering if there is any way to be sure the temp is correct. Also is there anything you guys can think of that may have done this. its about a 60 degree difference. Any more info/suggestions would be very appreciated.
PS - I already ordered a new heatsink and it will arive in about 2 days.
