Question on truth? Will be discussed in a class?

I am in an online class, called omnibus. I am in year four. We're currently studying Plato's republic, and our teacher gave us this question to answer:

What virtues must one have in order to pursue the truth vigorously and consistently?

I would appreciate your opinions, as I think we'll be debating this topic.
