question on ipad 2 apps?

I am planning on buying an ipaad 2 soon and i have a lot of apps from my old ipod touch, and i was wondering if they all work. I heard somewhere they just make the screen size smaller. More specificly im thinking about modern combat 2 back pegasous, i know they have an hd version for ipad. Will it be full screen just not great quality or portion of screen, or will i have to spend another 6 dollars.Thank you
