Hello I am 17 and shipping to the U.S. Marines boot camp in October, I was wondering, you hear about the recruits who fail out of Marine boot camp. Is it usually do to physical reasons? I am joining to serve the country. I am not joining for the money or education reasons I just want to be part of the strongest military in the world.
I can do over twenty dead hang pull ups, over seventy crunches in under 2:00 and run the three miles in around 19:50.
So I guess my question is are more recruits kicked out for physical problems or mental? Is it some people are there to get the college benefits and just don't have the heart?
Nothing would make me prouder to serve in the marines but I want to be as prepared as possible. Thanks

lol, the only way you will fail is if you get hurt, other than that you would have to be really soft to fail in boot camp, that is if you dont quit

anybody can do it, its just a bunch of bullshit that some people cant handle, just try to stay motovated thats all you can do

Sounds like you are pretty prepared physically and you are joining for the right reasons so, mentally you are prepared.

Good luck and good job!

If you think yes the physical training is difficult but Mentally you messed up during BCT. Its a matter of do you want to be there and go all the way and push yourself. Overall its both, mental and physical.
