My parents have always warned me of choosing a career path that is financially stable.
So since I have always shown an interest in science.. becoming a doctor has been the standard answer.
However, since drawing, and music have never been serious 'subjects' in my area.. I have HAD to study science, while keeping my real talents as hobbies at best.
Now I am regretting this. I am graduating college a major of chemistry biology and physics.
Ironically it was AFTER I left junior high that art was introduced as a subject !
My dream would be to become a regular artist of some sort... who plays with his band in between projects.
In trying to be practical I realize that I would have to pursue visual art more than music- since I have only been playing for 2 years... while i've been drawing since I can remember.
Question is.. how can I convince my parents that I can be just as financially secure as an artist.. as i could be as a doctor.
