No, this isn't a weird question at all. I have a friend who gained weight and had to have all her rings re-sized to fit her fingers because they got bigger. Then, she ended up losing all the weight plus a little more and had to have them re-sized again.
A lot of it has to do with your body type. Some people gain weight, but their neck/face will stay thin. My aunt used to weigh over 200 lbs. and her face was always thin regardless of the fact.
Myself? When I lose weight, I tend to lose it in my face as well, so I have to be careful because it makes me look gaunt/hollow. Even when my weight has increased (during pregnancy) my wrists & face stayed small/thin though. I gained a tiny bit in my face, but not like some pregnant women do. That was kind of strange I thought. Because I lose weight in my face, but don't gain it too much when I was pregnant & heavier?!?
