Question from a new guy

I just got an L6. I have been browsing this forum for a little while, but never needed to look up anything until now.

My quesyion is, What benefits does unlocking your phone provide?

I have tried to find a simple answer, but I guess I have managed to look over it, or I just can't find it. I am just curious.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

uh... first off your in the wrong part of the forums...

but to answer your question unlocking your phone makes it available to use with any provider. for example if you get a phone from Cingular its usually locked, so that means you cant use it with T-Mobile if you would ever wish to switch. if you DID want to switch, then you could find a place that unlocks phones and then you would be able to use your L6 on any GSM provider. hope this helps...
