This is a question for those of you who have in the past or currently experience symptoms of anxiety virtually the entire day without relief.

If you took medication, did the symptoms go away entirely or did they simply lessen but were always there?

I have been having chest pain, hot flashes (even though I'm a man), heart palpatations, and pressure behind my eyeballs for 4 days straight and it only goes away when I sleep. I'm getting fed up with it because none of my relaxation techniques are working and I'm actually considering seeing a doctor about it. I'm not against taking medication if it works, but I will only take it if there is a chance that my symptoms will completely disappear. I don't want to take medication if my best hope is to only feel a little better.

How many of you have actually become symptom-free taking medications?

Wow, 53 views on this thread and not a single person has reported complete success with medications. I'm screwed.

Medications will help a lot. Most of your symptoms will go away, but from my experience medication does not cure you. I am taking medication and I can't say that I am always well, but I am better. If you really think about it who is 100% well ?

MeRAB do nothing for me because I get so many side effects from them that it makes my anxiety worse. Zoloft was the best for me when I went on the brand specific form about 5 years ago, but then I went off of it because it quit working and my Dr. tried about every med out there and I didn't do well on any of them. Now I just take .5 mg of Xanax as needed, but I try really hard to get through my anxiety without anything. I'd say just take Xanax or Klonapin when you need to and skip a daily medicine, but I'm NOT even close to being a doctor so you should check with yours and see what's right for you. Good luck. Take care.
