Question for Geneticists regarding Y chromosome, please answer?

Is it true that mitochondrial dna tries to attack the male Y chromosome, while in embryonic state. The is stated in Brian Skyes book Adams Curse. Is Nature somehow against the Y chromosome as is stated in his book for those who are familiar with it ?
