Question flash suppressant propellants?

5.56 rounds like the 77 gr and 5.56 open tip SOST used by some military personal including the USMC with a flash reducer type propellant.

Do flash reducing propellants reduce noise as well or are they just as loud but with no muzzle flash?
 
just as loud with no muzzle flash, the only way to deaden the sound of a rifle is to first use less powder to achieve sub sonic ballistics(when a bullet goes supersonic, it continues to release supersonic shockwaves until hitting the target, so this is necessary since the supersonic shockwave is usually louder then the powder charge going off), then you need a suppressor to deaden down the sound of the powder charge going off, these are heavily restricted and need a special license to obtain them.
