Question about your ship date for the US ARMY?

So my ship date is this July 15.
That is on wednesday!
My recruiter says he will pick me up on the 14 and take me to a hotel so on the 15 i go to MEPS and fly out on the 16.

Is he right?
My ship date says the 15 but he says that really means that i have to be in MEPS that day. So ill stay in the hotel after MEPS and fly out the 16.

So yeah it this true. He says its right but im just wondering. I dont wanna ship out late.

HELP?
Just tell me i know i should trust him but you never know! =]
 
After MEPS they usually fly you right down to basic, but if they are booked up they can put you up in a hotel until the next day. Don't be surprised if you fly out on a red-eye on the 16th (like 2am)!
 
That is right. Your "ship date" is the date you "ship" to MEPS to do all the last-minute stuff with them.

Even if it was the wrong date, your recruiter would take any fall for it, and you would just join the class arriving the next day anyways, but your recruiter is correct.
