This question is in regards to my fiancee. He was injured on the jon 6/29/08, after receiving Workman's Comp. Benefits for 8 months he was released back to work. He did have a test done before he was released back to check for PPI. After being released for almost 2 months now he received a letter in the mail stating that 1% of the lower extremity which equates to .45 degrees of PPI, at a rate of $1, 340.00 per degree, for a total award of $591.76 to be paid in one lump sum. The award shall be deemed payable from the date of injury.
Does anyone know what this means in simple terms? I do know that now will go on his work record that his knee is permanently impaired. Are they awarding him $591 for an injury that is going to last him for the rest of his life?
Is this something he should accept or do you think he should look into getting legal aide?
Thank you in advance.
