I am not sure if this is the correct place for this, so I apologize if it is not. I am a chronic pain person who is currently taking 20mg of OpanaER 2x per day, along with four hydrocodones per day. I have very bad nerve damange. Anyway, the Opana is completely messing up my GI tract. And, it is doing nothing for my pain. I want to come off of it..NOW!
Here is my problem. The pills are time released, so there is no cutting them down. I take them 2 times per day, 12 hours apart. I have been doing this for over 3 months now. How do I start to wean myself off of these withouth going through horrible withdrawals. I am a mom to two small children (2 and 4) and have NO ONE to help me with them. I can handle the pain with the hydro's, but cannot handle major withdrawal symptoms.
So, any suggestions on how to do this. I spoke to my dr. and he thinks I should continue the Opana and try and take other meRAB to cover up the GI problems I am having. He does not understand that the GI problems are ruling my life right now.
Thanks, and again, I apologize if this is posted in the wrong spot.
