What makes a celebrity appearance or multiple appearances worthy of either guest star status or just part of the cast?
any time a celebrity guest stars on Family Guy, they are listed amongst the cast with no "special guest star" label.
However what bugs me is that Isaac Hayes (RIP) who played Chef on South Park was listed as a guest star despite the fact Chef was a regular character. Or how Marcia Wallace as Mrs Krabappel on the Simpsons is labeled a guest star when she is a resident of Springfield.
Does anyone know why certain shows label a celebrity appearance as a guest star appearance even if they are playing a regular cast member?
