I realize that Chrysler was a public company for many years and then went private. Let's say Dan and Mitt, two billionaires, each ponied up $4 billion to take Chrysler private. My question is: what happened to their ownership position when Chrysler went BK? Did Dan and Mitt each lose $4 billion since the new owners are a combination of the Gov't, UAW etc? Or did they get all or some of their money back somehow?
