Question about the new LCD TV's?

I have an old one about 4 years old and it has speakers on the side and it sounds great, just like a theater.

The ones I see advertised look like there aren't any speakers, but they must be really small, I haven't seen any up close in stores.

So what I am wondering is, if I buy a new LCD TV, will I get theater sound from it, or do I have to buy one of those theater sound systems to hook up to it?
 
Depends on the brand. Generally speaking Sony Samsung Sharp Toshiba and other big names have developed a new way of sending sound. They sound just as good if not better then they did 2-3 years ago. It helps make the tv look sleeker by hiding them.
