Question about the art institutes for graphic design or photography....?

I am thinking about applyng to one of the art institutes form either photography or design in the next year or two. There is one in my home state, but I would honselty rather go out of state to try something new. Will it be more expensive for me to go to an out of state art institute than it would to stay in state? I know that state schools are usually a lot more expensive when you go out of state, but I don't know about the art institues becasue they aren't technically state schools. Anything else I should know?

P.S. I have tried talking to people about it but the people that work for them are sooo pushy about everything and they always give roundabout answers or answer my questions with other questions!
