Question about the Army's drug policy.?

I was just told by recruiters at goarmy.com that the Army will no longer accept people with drug convictions, regardless of the circumstance. Is there any truth to this? Any possible waiver? I was convicted of possession of marijuana in 2003, a misdemeanor offense. Other than that, I have a clean record. Since that conviction I earned my GED and have 20+ college credits. Surely there is something I can do to still join the Army. Does anyone know the truth behind this? Any suggestions on how I can still join? Thanks to anyone who can help.
 
I talked to a recruiter today and he told me that they are getting more strict on everything in general and arent even accepting ppl with GEDs right now. not sure about how true it is, thats just what i was told a couple hours ago.
