Question about switching to Cricket

I have a Motorola Droid 1 that has been flashed to Cricket. I currently do not have any service with Cricket what so ever. The question is would I be able to call Cricket to have the phone activated, or do I need to purchase a plan/phone online/dealer and then have the plan switched to the Droid 1. Thank you all in advance for any help!
 
;^) I did not need to buy a separate Cricket phone when I activated my Cricket service on my Palm Treo 755p (Sprint, now Cricket) years ago. It should be the same for you.
