Question about SMP program and military careers?

This is my course of actions:
Enlist in Army National Guard
leaving to Basic combat training in Janurary
followed by AIT, getting out around mid june 2010
enjoy the summer time
enroll at local University in home town during fall semester (August 2010)
enroll in the SMP program (ROTC)

What financial benefits am i receiving in total here? my recruiter mentioned that a combination of rotc stipend, e-5 drill pay, and 700 in "misc" (GI bill? + kickers??)
comes out to around 1400/month, thus relieving me of having to find and keep a part time job somewhere.

Does this money include the funds i receive that pay for my academic tuition fees? or is that taken care of seperately?

Also, what am i committing to by doing all this? something about 6+2 years? Does the national guard and ROTC require seperate obligations of me? what does an officer (2nd lieutenant) in the reserve/guard do during the time they agree to serve? is it 8 years total or am i mistaken?

I dont intend to really do any active duty time, i want to finish my Bachlors, finish any commitments to the Military, and move onto my civilian career.

THANKS FOR THE HELP, CANT WAIT TO START MY JOURNEY
