question about my vegetable garden?

in my garden i am growing bell peppers, zucchini and tomatoes.well for the past week i have noticed that some type of insect or bug is eating the leaves on my plants(especially the bell peppers).on top of my tomatoes are getting black spots/rotting.what causes these problems and what can i do to help my plants out?and is there any type of safe/homemade thing i can put on my plants?
 
I read somewhere that a really concentrated nettle infusion gets rid of the unwanted insects. You can try it, if it wont help at least it nourishes your plants. good luck! and I also found this about organic insecticides, I hope it helps:
