Romans 10:17

A while back, my engine light came on. It was checked, and it was Low Catalyst Efficiency. I finally went to Cole Muffler on Monday and got my converter replaced.
However, my Jeep is still having acceleration problems. I step on the gas and my vehicle does not always increase in speed as it should. The RPMs increase, but not the speed. Also, at complete stops, when I put my foot on the gas, sometimes my Jeep "lunges" (after hesitating to move for a second), instead of moving normally.
Are these problems related to the catalytic converter? Should I go back to Cole Muffler? What would you do?
(I've also had an 'idle motor' check engine reading. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. And I'm getting black exhaust out of my tailpipe.)
