Question about my blood test results and my blood sugar

I went to the doctor awhile back around noon due to some stomach reflux I had. It was noon and I didn't eat breakfast, just a cheeseburger fries and drink an hour before the blood test. I got a call and they said my blood results were normal except for my blood sugar which was low. She said it "wasn't that bad" but I still want to know if this is something I should be worried about.

I'm 21 years old 5'10'' 233 pounds and I've been taking Prilosec. I also have zero family history of diabetes.

She should have told you your blood sugar result (number)reading.
She should have also asked you before your blood sugar testing when did you last have a meal.

For a more accurate blood sugar reading would be a A1C blood test to determine your overall, of course fasting is needed for this test to be more accurate.

You may want to keep this in mind for your own benefit, Always get copies of any and all testings . All xrays, Mri's , blood testings any kind of tests.
Best to have your results before a next appointment follow up, so then you may discuss results with the doctor. Your result copy are yours, they belong to you. Errors can be made or a doc may miss discussing certain results with you, best to have your copy beforehand.

Low blood sugar is not a sign of diabetes...high blood sugar is. I have naturally low blood sugar - even after eating. There really isn't anything to be done about it other than remembering to eat more frequently. The lab that my doctor uses has a low threshold of 70 and mine was 56 last time - non-fasting though all I had was 1/4 bagel and a cup of tea. Usually it's around 65. Find out your actual score and it might make you feel better just knowing that.
