I recently (about 2 months ago) signed up for the Navy Reserves and was also sworn in. I am in the Delayed Entry Program and will not leave until next May to do basic training and A school. I was wondering if I could switch and go to the Marine Reserves? Also, I know somebody in the Marine Reserves and he does not have an MOS, after boot camp he is back to his normal life. How is that? Does that mean no enlistment bonus if they're even given for Marine reserves anyway? Thanks.....HONOR....COURAGE....COMMITTMENT.

It is your right to back out of the DEP for whatever reason. If you drop out and join another branch you loose any bonuses you might of had.

You can not switch. You have to get released from the Navy before the USMC will talk to you..

Click this link and then follow the links. You will see all the DEP info you need.. Just understand the USMC and the Navy are nothing alike. So you better be damn sure you want to be a Marine first and everything else second.
