Question about majoring in biology?

I would like to research either epidemiology, animal behavior, toxicology, or biomedical science as a career. These are all available majors but few colleges offer them. Considering that I am interested in all of these fields and have a lot of time to decide which one I would like to pursue, should I search for colleges that offer biology as a major? Or should I go for specific majors? If I became a biology major, would I be able to specialize in one of my given interests down the road? Also, I would like to minor in either sociology or journalism...which would be more beneficial? Or, should I just take these as general courses (is that possible?) Lastly, I have heard that bioengineering is a promising career. Once again, would it be better to specifically major in bioengineering to become a bio engineer, or would a biology major suffice? Is biomedical engineering relatively difficult to major in?

usually its a about majoring in a general area, then you can get a masters in a special field. example: major in biology with a minor in sociology, master in epidemiology, and get a doctorate in toxicology.

Biomedical engineering sounds pretty hard, but probably has a great pay. Talk to a college you are looking at and get the info through them.
Hope this helps! good luck!

Go spend several hours on CareerBuilder, Monster, Indeed, etc. Look at the job description and educational requirements. Pay careful attention to the certifications and years of experience, because this is what you will need in addition to education to apply for these positions.
